History

This department, focuses on training qualified maintenance and repair personnel for the aviation industry in compliance with international standards. The Aircraft Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance Department provides education in accordance with European Union standards (EASA), the SHY-66 Aircraft Maintenance Personnel Licensing Regulation, and the SHY-147 Aircraft Maintenance Training Organization Regulation. The faculty holds the SHY-147 Aircraft Maintenance Training Organization authorization granted by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.

In addition to theoretical courses, students receive hands-on training in aerodynamics, hydraulic systems, materials, CAD/CAM, computer laboratories, airframe and engine workshops, brake systems workshops, and the SHY-145 approved maintenance facilities within the faculty. Admission to the Aircraft Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance Department is based on a central placement system. The English preparatory program is optional. The mandatory internship period is sixty working days.

Graduates pursue careers in the technical departments of Turkish Airlines, private airline companies, aircraft maintenance centers, and other aviation-related businesses.
